How Roof Area Is Calculated
The calculator multiplies the base length × width by a pitch factor based on the rise over 12. One square equals 100 square feet. Most asphalt shingles cover about 33 sq ft per bundle (3 bundles per square).
Always add extra for waste, ridges, and valleys.
